Brookhaven is a city located in western DeKalb County in northeastern Atlanta, Georgia. Brookhaven was incorporated in 2012 and was the eleventh city to be incorporated in the county. The city is home to over 70,000 people. It is a growing suburb of Atlanta that boasts a number of cultural and recreational attractions. Murphey Candler Park
Located in Brookhaven, Georgia, Murphey Candler Park is a 135-acre multi-use park. The City of Brookhaven owns this park, which offers a variety of recreational activities to residents and visitors. Skyland Park
A ribbon cutting for the new Skyland Park in Brookhaven, Georgia is scheduled for Sept. 29 at 10 a.m. The park features two sand volleyball courts, dog parks, picnic shelters, solar paneled public charging stations, open field, and two canopy structures with solar panels. This park was created as a result of an agreement between Brookhaven and the DeKalb County School District.
The project has been a long time in the making, but finally, a construction team has begun work on the Skyland Park community. Located at the intersection of Clairmont and Skyland Roads, the development will feature three to four-bedroom townhomes with rear entry garages. In addition to the park, the project will include a school, a recreation center, and tennis courts. Residents will enjoy a convenient location to shopping, dining, and entertainment.
Georgian Hills Park
A recent community event in Brookhaven, Georgia, celebrated the improvements made to Georgian Hills Park. This 3.6-acre neighborhood park now offers an open field with Bermuda turf, an irrigation system, and a playground. The park also has a playground and picnic shelter. In addition to playing fields, it also features an outdoor basketball half-court and a walking trail. Georgian Hills Park is located at 2800 East Georgian Drive.

Oglethorpe University campus
If you’re interested in attending a private college in Georgia, look no further than Oglethorpe University. The private college was founded in 1835 and is named after General James Edward Oglethorpe, who founded the Colony of Georgia. In addition to teaching history, Oglethorpe’s campus is adorned with historical markers and artifacts. The architecture is stunning, with an old-style collegiate Greek revival chapel on campus.
Oglethorpe University’s collegiate athletics department has a national championship football team and men’s golf team. The school’s baseball team, the St. Pius X Trojans, plays at the college’s stadium. The school has a unique yearbook, Yamacraw, which was named after the bluff that was the landing site for James Oglethorpe’s 1733 expedition. Notable alumni include Frank Sinatra and Louis Armstrong. In 2010, the Cartoon Network filmed portions of their live action series Tower Prep on the campus.
